Sunrisers can today announce that the Club and Trevor Griffin have agreed to an immediate release from his contract due to personal reasons.
Griffin joined the club in July 2020, becoming the inaugural Sunrisers Head Coach. During this time the side have made huge strides, both on and off the field. Trevor’s knowledge and commitment has been invaluable, creating an environment that has seen players thrive as individuals and as elite
cricketers.
Commenting on Trevor’s departure, Danni Warren, Sunrisers Regional Director of Women’s Cricket said:
“It is always sad when people move on, however, there are more important things than cricket and we fully support Trevor in his desire to spend time with his family at this time. Trevor’s impact at Sunrisers will live on, the best tribute we can pay to him is to take the work he has done out on to the pitch this coming season. Everyone at Sunrisers, Middlesex Cricket, and across the region wish Trevor all the best for the future.”
On leaving Sunrisers, Trevor Griffin, said:
“It’s time for me to return home to my family & friends and be closer to home to rebuild a bit of balance. I love our game and I love my job – there’s no better feeling than helping players improve and achieve their dreams. I’m grateful for the opportunity to be part of Sunrisers from their inception, and hope I’ve helped build the foundations for players to go on to flourish. I wish everyone well for the new season and I’m really excited to see what the future holds.”
Sunrisers are in the process of determining interim coaching staff and further details will be confirmed in due course.
