Sunrisers Head Coach Andy Tennant has named a squad of fourteen to face Northern Diamonds at Northampton for Sunday’s Charlotte Edwards Cup fixture, as Kate Coppack returns to the squad.
Sunrisers are looking to bounce back after defeat to Western Storm on Friday afternoon, and will look forward to playing their final game in Northampton.
Having won the toss, Sunrisers bowled well to restrict Storm to 134/8, with Eva Gray, Sophie Munro, and Mady Villiers all taking two wickets.
Against an experienced Storm bowling lineup Flo Miller (28) and Cordelia Griffith (26) starred with the bat, but the away side could only reach 106 in reply.
Diamonds were also in action on Friday afternoon, as they hosted Stars at Durham. After being bowled out for 124, they were unable to get over the line and recorded another loss which leaves them winless and bottom of the table.
The game starts at 11.30am at Northamptonshire’s County Ground, ahead of the Steelbacks taking on Yorkshire Vikings in the Vitality Blast. Tickets are still available to buy online. Entry is free to Northamptonshire members.
