During the innings break of our RHFT game against Vipers this afternoon, we announced Jo Gardner as the winner of the 2023 Charlotte Edwards Cup Supporters’ Player of the Competition, sponsored by Sunshine Garden Centre.
At the conclusion of the competition in mid-June, we asked for supporters to cast their vote on our website. There were over 150 votes counted in just over two weeks of voting.
Gardner played a key role with the bat in the Sunrisers middle order, hitting 25 at Lord’s against South East Stars, and an unbeaten 37* facing Western Storm at her home ground of Northampton. She finished with 92 runs in six innings, whilst also taking two catches and claiming two wickets with her off-spin.
As the winner, Jo will receive a £250 voucher to spend at the Garden Centre, alongside a cash prize of £250. We were delighted to be joined by Sunshine’s Managing Director Paul Douglass, who presented the award on the Chelmsford outfield.
