Sunrisers' Charley Phillips has today joined The Blaze on loan through to the end of the 2024 season. This precedes a permanent move to the East Midlands side from this winter.
Having come through the highly successful Sunrisers Academy, Charley became the ninth graduate player to be awarded with a 1st Team contract in April this year. Despite providing seam cover in the early months of the season, she found opportunities limited and did not feature in a competitive eleven for Sunrisers.
Speaking of Charley’s departure, Danni Warren, Regional Director of Womens Cricket praised the young seamer for her contributions across the summer:
“Charley has been a valued member of our 1st Team squad this summer, having earned her first contract following her pre-season performances. She has impressed over the time she has been with the group, transitioning seamlessly from the Academy.
“We wish Charley all the best as she embarks on the next chapter of her career, everyone at Sunrisers will always be proud of her regional roots.”
