Sunrisers are delighted to announce that wicket-keeper batter Ariana Dowse has signed a first team contract until the end of the season, after impressing on trial.
Dowse, 22, has been training with the side throughout the summer, after leaving Southern Vipers at the end of last season, and has been impressive with the bat in Second Eleven cricket over the last few weeks.
She grew up playing in the Sussex pathway before joining the Vipers Academy, and featured in the FairBreak tournament played in Hong Kong in April and May this year. She will provide another useful option at the top of the batting order, and can deputise with the gloves if needed.
Head Coach Andy Tennant said: “We’re excited to bring Ariana into the squad ahead of the final few games of the season. She’s been training with us for a while now and has settled into the group really well.
She’s shown her skills in training and scored runs for the Second Eleven this summer, and I’m sure that she will be able to step up and become an integral part of the team.”
Ariana will be in contention to make her debut at Radlett tomorrow, when we host Western Storm in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy tomorrow. Tickets are available to buy on the gate, priced at £10 for adults and £5 for U18s.
Dowse will wear shirt number 83. Welcome to Sunrisers, Ariana!
