ABTAHA MAQSOOD VISITS HARPENDEN GIRLS TRAINING

Last Sunday, Abtaha Maqsood visited the Harpenden CC girls winter training, with over fifty girls from the Hertfordshire club getting the chance to pick the brains of the Scottish international.

This is the latest in a long line of visits that the Sunrisers professionals have been taking part in since the turn of the year, as part of Sunrisers’ commitment to inspiring the young cricketers in our region.

The first hour and a half session saw Abtaha meet some of the club’s U11 girls, as she took part in their activities and spent time talking to them about their cricketing journeys so far. The second session provided the opportunity for the U13-U15 age groups to learn from Abtaha, as she gave them all a masterclass in spin bowling.

Harpenden CC’s head of Junior Girls Cricket, George Wright, commented: “Thank you to Sunrisers and Abtaha for coming along to the girls session at the weekend. I’ve had some great feedback from parents, and I thought Abtaha was outstanding in terms of being available and open for anyone to approach her with a question.

The day was a great success, and a privilege for the club to have such a high-profile cricketer visit us.”

If your club is interested in organising a visit from a Sunrisers player over the next few weeks, please get in touch via our Player Visit Request Form. The offer is open to all clubs based in the London and East region. We will do our best to fulfil each request, although with the player's schedules this can sometimes provide difficult.
