Sunrisers are delighted that Abtaha Maqsood has agreed a contract with the club for the 2023 season.
The leg-spinner, 23, signs her first professional contract as she continues to make a name for herself in the game.
Scottish international Maqsood initially made the move down south last summer, where she took 6 wickets for Sunrisers before heading off to the Hundred and then international duty.
New Head Coach Andy Tennant was delighted to secure her signing, having worked together in the Scotland set-up in recent months.
“It has been a privilege to watch Abtaha develop in Scotland from a shy and talented young spin bowler into the outstanding cricketer and person she is now. I look forward to working more closely now with Abs in a full-time professional environment, to support her in taking her game to the next level.”
On signing her first professional contract, Maqsood said:
“I am thrilled to have signed my first ever full time professional contract with Sunrisers. I absolutely loved playing with the team this summer and making lifelong friends. I learned so much by being around the professional environment and can’t wait to get going again this winter.
I’m also very excited to have Andy on board who I have always enjoyed working with back in Scotland and wish him all the best in his new role.”
Welcome back, Abtaha!
